[ He holds out a hand for one of them. ]

The weird ass stage. Me an' Graey were figuring that they're probably gonna start charging for drinks so we loaded up.

[handing it over! And then he holds his up, wanting to clink them together.]

[ Doesn't leave him hanging, there's a soft clink amidst the push and pull of waves below, and the wind tugs at both of them. He settles on the rail, wrists dangling, and his shoulder against Yingxing's.]

I talked with him a bit too, y'know.

What's your impression of him?

[He's tense, from where they're pressed together.]

I've known him a while. Years actually, though uh.. not well. He's always in, cats love him and that's usually a good sign.

... He had the same smell you do, thick an' upset, today. Before we figured out who it was, he talked like he was bout to sing when it was about you.

So he's been back. For a while. And he never--

[He blinks tears back rapidly, looking up at the sky. His scent spikes violently into anger.]

How did you get over what Peony did to you?

[ Ah. Yeah he's not saying anything to that anger, or that grief. He sinks down a little bit, thinking of Peony. Soft, light fingertips on his forearm and her calm smile- ]

Don't know I really did. Not all the way.

I still-

[ A heaving sigh, tail lashing a bit. ]

- I still wonder what I did. How I coulda been a better husband. Gave her what she needed.

Figured out what bit of me I'm missing, y'know.

[ A takes a drink. ]

Don't say that. You're not missing anything. You're a good man and anyone would be lucky to have you.

[It was so easy to make a move on Velveteen, because Yingxing barely knew him. He and Graey were very clear that neither of them were looking for anything more from each other, other than friendship and sex. But Brocade-

Brocade is his best friend. He didn't want to risk being left by him, like every other romantic relationship he'd had in his life. What if things didn't work out? What if one day he, too, would vanish?]

I'm always here for you. [Fiercely:] You and me. You know that, right?

[ It's the tone, almost more than the words. His tail poofs a little where it sways behind him and his pupils overtake his irises as he stares at his best friend. ]

I know. You know it's the same right? Aint nothin' changing that.

[ What if... what if he leans in a little. ]

I'll help you hide the bodies and everything.

[Yingxing thinks, not for the first time, he's so beautiful, and he can't help it either: he leans in, and up, and-]

How good are you at pull-ups?

[ He does lean down though, hands settling on Yingxing's waist and pulling him up a little to meet. The first kiss is light and closed only because Sett is still grinning. The laugh gets swallowed in the next.

He's wanted this. He's wanted this forever and SESAME ISN'T AROUND AND HE'S WANTED THIS FOREVER. There's a little of that taste of a drink to chase and he's going to. Everything about kissing Brocade is a little off, teeth too sharp, tongue a bit too rough. But all of the intent is soft, leisurely. Like he might not get the chance again. ]

Mmmh.

[He goes up on tiptoes, an arm winding around Brocade's shoulders, marveling at how the other man's here, that he can have this, years of affection threatening to overflow from his chest. He answers the roughness with his own: Yingxing has never owned lip balm in his life, and he makes soft, panting sounds whenever teeth threaten to nick -

He pulls away to breathe. He's flushed. He's looking at Brocade like he'd hung the moon.]

Hmm. Seven out of ten.

[ He wants this he wants this he wants this he wants this he wants this.

It's not the first time he's seen Yingxing overheated, but all he can think is how much better that look could be worn out and sweat drenched.

how much better it could be waking up in the morning]

Sounds like I need a second try.

[ He leans in, a light brush, a prickle of stubble makes him grin. Those sharp teeth scrap the top of Yingxing's ear. ]

Maybe a third.

[He makes a sound Brocade has probably never heard before: a whimper, low and throaty, and Yingxing's nails dig into Brocade's biceps.]

Don't worry, you can have all the tries you want.

[He lifts a hand - really lifts it, tall bastard - and cradles Brocade's jaw.]

When you texted me earlier. That you loved me. I love you too. For a while now.

[ That sound goes RIGHT between his legs. Shit. He wants to hear that. He wants to hear that a LOT and for the rest of his life. He wants to be the one to make that happen. AT VOLUME.

And then rockets right back into his heart so hard it misses a beat.

He just leans into those hands, eyes lidding in some bliss. YINGXING LOVES HIM]

... It's ah. I've loved you a long while too.

Have we been just this stupid the entire time? I was scared stupid to say anything.

[He throws his head back and laughs, hands sliding down to wind around Brocade's waist - to slide cold hands up the small of his back, under his shirt. Again. But this time it has intent, feeling all the muscles bunched up there, near his tail--]

Dude... I was so worried about busting us that I-nnh??

[ It's a short, almost high pitched noise that comes from Brocade when he feels those fingers play over the soft fur of his lower back, and then right THERE. His grip on Lithium's waist might be a little painful for a second. ]

Ooookay. [ He breathes out, a shuddering purr that sounds like an engine idling. ] Thatttt's good. Gimmie.. gimmie one second.

[This is that slightly creepy, feverish smile Yingxing gets when he finds a project he can sink his teeth into (literal now) and take apart (also literal now).]

I think I'm winning this round. [SCRITCH SCRITCH SCRITCH IN WHAT PROBABLY IS A KIND OF PUBLIC SPOT BUT] You sound really nice like this.

[ He just makes a vulnerable little sound in the back of his throat and folds over Yingxing, trying not to just throw the other man down right here.

And then he SAYS THAT.

His eyes slit and his hands shift down to engulf Yingxing's ass and press him into Brocade's thigh. ]

[He leans up, up-- hand curling warm over Brocade's nape, pulling him down further so he can murmur in Brocade's ear:]

I've had so many dreams about you. Wanna hear about them?

[ The breath along the fine hairs of his ear makes him WANT to twitch his ear flat but he doesn't want to not hear every possible word. And the fingers in the loose nap just is yelling at him in warm waves to just stay still be good stay still be good.

As it is, he's proud that he manages to nod, swallowing hard.]

Wanna see how many we can make real tonight?

If you can make it 'til tonight.

[And then he bites down on Brocade's ear, along the velvety shell of it, before pulling back and grinning up at him. It's a little crooked, and a whole lot fond, as Yingxing finds Brocade's wrist and pressing a kiss to his pulse.]

Better hope the walls aren't thin.

[ He gets to hear that whine and feel that full body shudder, or the way his pulse is thundering under Yingxing's lips. ]

[ Brocade's inner mind theater is exactly this icon.

And FUCK YEA!!!!!!!
